In addition to special events, we have three series of dances, all in Lawrence, Kansas:

Regular Dances

Cost: Adult $7, Student $3, under 16 $2
Time: 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. (Fall-Spring)
When: Sept 20, Oct 18**, Nov 15**, Dec 20
           (Third Saturdays monthly.)
Where: Woodlawn School  at 508 Elm Street in North Lawrence . (** special location / price)

Join us at 6:45 (sharp!) before regular dances for a Contradance Basics Workshop: Learn the basic steps and movement patterns you will be using that evening. Even if you can't attend the workshops, beginners are always welcome. Please come early in the evening as we begin with comfortable dances for newcomers.

Bloo Moon Advanced Dance
Cost: Adult $7, Student $3, under 16 $2
Time: 7:30 p.m. (Fall)
When: November 29
           (Fifth Saturdays of the month.)
Where: Usually at Woodlawn School, 508 Elm Street in North Lawrence

Advanced dances are like our regular dances, but with minimal walkthroughs and faster, more challenging dances for our experienced dancers. We encourage beginners to try our beginner-friendly regular dances instead of this series.

General Notes:

No Partner Necessary. Please wear soft-soled shoes! All dances are taught and prompted and feature live music. Dress cool and casual - dancing is energetic activity!

Community Friendly:
Most dancers switch partners throughout the evening. Please be sure to dance with newcomers as well as your friends. Look for folks sitting out on the sides who haven't had a chance to dance. They'll be happy you did!
Family Dances

Family dances feature easy to learn traditional dances for all ages and abilities. Our family dance series is regrouping and will be on hiatus through the end of the year. Volunteers to help organize and publicize the family dances would be most welcome. Get more info at www.yippeecoyote.com/familydance/, or by phoning Jill at 785-841-5759.
